More easy dish to make for the ones who start to learn cooking Thai food, this dish is very simple and delicious and the ingredients are only beef and salt and that’s it.

Buy the beef from the shop and if you want to make this dish easier, ask the butcher to slice the beef for you. I think it’s the best way and very fast for the butcher to do it because they already have the slice machine and they have the slice service already, so why do you have to waste your time slice it yourself.

After you get the beef in the perfect size, put the salt on each piece and leave it together for half an hour. Turn on the oven in lowest level. It should not take you longer than 1 – 1.5 hour to make this dish done.

Seafood at the beach

As we all know, if we want to get good fresh things, we have to go to the place where that good fresh things are from. In addition, if I want seafood, so of course I have to go to the sea. It’s always enjoyable for me to eat seafood. However, nothing can beat eating seafood at the beach with sea view. Everything seems to be paradise at that moment. I just had chance to do that a few days ago, eating seafood at the beach.

Seafood at the beach

Seafood at the beach is very fresh because they have them alive in the tank, once the customers make an order, they will take the seafood up from the tank and cook right away according to the amount that the customer’s order. The good thing of eating seafood at the beach is that even the chef is not a good cooker; you will at least enjoy the seafood because it is so fresh. Therefore, the must-have orders are the steamed seafood like steaming crab or shrimp because these orders will never go wrong even the chef is bad.
There are not so many restaurants in Chanthaburi beach comparing to other beaches in Thailand. I think it might be because the number of the tourists is still very low and most of the tourists there are Thais too. The way Thais eat when they go to the beach is that they cook by themselves; just buy the fresh seafood from the market. By the way, you can still find some restaurants in Chanthaburi no matter what, even on the weekdays but do not expect the wide range of choice. The restaurant I went to last time was a small restaurant next to the resort I stayed. I ordered fried rice and half kilogram of steaming crabs. The fried rice was not that good but steaming crabs were heaven. Every single crab I had had eggs inside it.

Fruit from Chanthaburi

However, the best food you can get from Chanthaburi is not seafood but Fruits. Fruits here are very fresh and they have it all year long. Most of the sellers will come to Chanthaburi to buy fruits and deliver it to all other cities like Bangkok and other provinces nearby.

Chilli is not only something you add in the food to get spicy taste but it has more advantages than that. Besides from getting spicy taste from it, Chili also helps the digestion system of the body working good and stimulates the blood circulation in the body to work well too. Another qualification of chili that all girls will like is that chili can help you to lose weight in a way that chili will make you less hungry because its spicy will make people eat lesser than they can. It’s because when people eat spicy food, they tend to drink a lot more water than eating non-chili food. Water will make the stomach full and they will eat lesser.

Chili also has Capsicum in it and that capsicum has the qualification in burning fat inside the body. Western people might not get use to spicy food. You don’t have to eat as spicier as Thais but you can try by adding a little bit of chili in your Thai food next time. A little bit spicy is good and you will know that spicy food is not bad at all. Thai born to eat spicy food, chili is something you never miss in any Thai dishes.

Sticky rice is the rice that is found in Lao, northern and Northeastern of Thailand. Lao is the country with the highest number of sticky rice growth out of all countries where they grow Sticky rice. Sticky rice is grown in China, Thailand, Lao, Vietnam, Philippine, Japan, Korea and Indonesia.

In Thailand, we call sticky rice as “Khao Niew”. Khao means rice and Niew means sticky. Sticky rice is famous main dish for people from Northeast of Thailand. It can be compared same as the thai jasmine rice for other regions in Thailand. Even it’s not the food of other regions in Thailand but Northeast food is very famous and be eaten by any Thais from any regions of Thailand, so sticky rice is the food that is hard to miss for any thais.

Sticky rice is easily to be eaten by hands because it’s very sticky, so it’s difficult to eat it with normal spoon and fork. Sticky rice in Thailand is stickier than rice in Japan or China, so it’s difficult for people who eat it to use chopstick like Japanese do with their own rice. They are both sticky but in different levels.

Jasmine Rice is the most famous exporting product of Thailand, it’s the no. 1 exporting product of Thailand too. The trick to cooking jasmine rice well is using minimal water, so that the rice is steamed, rather than boiled. But be careful not using too little water because the rice will be too dry. Actually it depends on the rice if good rice, it doesn’t need a lot of water but if not so good rice, need a lot of water to make it smooth to eat. Jasmine rice can be prepared easily with electronic cooker.

Jasmine rice can be the signature dish for Thai food. Thai food will not be completed without the dish of jasmine rice. Thai name for Jasmine rice is “khao horm mali”. Thai rice is originally from Thailand. What makes Thai Jasmine rice different from the rice from other countries is that it’s less sticky and it has less amylopectin. Amylopectin is the glucose that can be found in plants.

Thai people always have rice in every meal either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Thai people love sharing food. If you go out for lunch or dinner with Thai friends, you are most likely to be asked whether you’d like a single dish or dishes to share. To share or not to share, that is a question entirely up to you. It’s something that people who are not Thais don’t get familiar with or they might think it’s not hygienic to do so. Thais use the middle spoon to cope up the food to their own dish, in that case you don’t have to worry about hygienic issue.

Thai people eat 3 meals a day same as most of the people from many countries. But Thais have a habit of eating small meal like snack because it’s very easy to find food all around. Many Thais tend to not cook by themselves but eat small food outside very often because it’s very cheap and everywhere. Foreigners who live here call it as street food which in Thailand, we have almost everything such as fruit, meatballs, noodle and more.

You will never feel hungry if you live in Thailand because you can find food anytime of the day even late at night. There are some restaurants in Thailand opening at night only and close very late or close in the morning. Some restaurants open from 10 pm until 6am to satisfy the hunger of the people who work at night or people who tend to get hungry right at night. It’s something special that you can find only in Thailand or only in few countries in the world.
