Review

We were looking for a nice place to eat in Bangkok for our anniversary. One of the articles we saw online directed us to the Deck by Arun Residence. We were really impressed by the photos posted online and the reviews on tripadvisor aren’t so bad.

We immediately booked a reservation online and we were pleasantly surprised with the
fast response we got. The staff was very helpful in giving us some directions. He answered most of our questions properly. The big day came and we went to the restaurant straight from the airport. The commute was manageable though a tuk tuk driver overcharged us. He asked for 200 Baht for a ride from
Hua Lam Phong station to the restaurant. We later found out that it shouldn’t be more than 100 Baht. But we really didn’t care about it that much.
The restaurant was really as beautiful as the photos we’ve seen! It was so romantic though the place was a bit humid. We can tell that some of the waiters don’t understand English fully. It took awhile before they escorted us to our table.

The prices on the menu are very reasonable. I think we only spent 1,200 Baht for an entire meal. We ordered Beef, Chicken, Noodles and some traditional Thai Ice Tea.
All in all we were very happy with our meal. The taste was really great. We will definitely recommend this place to other couples who want to have a romantic evening out.
However the downside of this restaurant is their service. We’ve noticed a couple of seating beside our table and they were complaining about the desert being served first. The waiter couldn’t understand what they couple meant so he just said “yes”. Unfortunately the couple just left the restaurant instead of arguing with the waiter. There was also another unsatisfied
customer on our right side. According to him the waiter completely forgot about his order.
It took awhile before they served him his food. Imagine we were already halfway done cour dinner when he got his food and they came way earlier than we did. His other friends were already having dessert at that time.

I can say that this restaurant should train their waiters more. Most of their customers are foreigners. So they should be able to speak at least decent English.
