Laab – Northeast tasty pork food

Thai-Northeast food



Ingredients:

1 tablespoon toasted rice
1/4 shallot, thinly sliced
1-2 limes
1/2lbs ground pork
1/4 tablespoon ground dried chili pepper
3 tablespoons fish sauce
5 sprigs cilantro sliced
3 sprigs spearmint Optional
1 green onion sliced

Laab is made from pork and you cook to make it tasty in Thai style, it’s simple and very tasty spicy. First of all, you have to mix lime on to the ground pork and leave it couple of minutes to make the pork tasty.

You will only have to use the small pork to cook laab, not a big one. First, heat up the pot to very hot and then add 2 tablespoon of water not to let the dish too dry and suddenly add the pork that you prepare before and stir it. Keep stiring until the pork is well done. The original Laab is made from raw pork which mean you don’t need to use heat at all to cook laap but for the healthy reason, I suggest you to cook it.

After the pork is cooked, put it in the large bowl in order to mix the ingredients with it. Add fish sauce, green onion, shallot, cilantro, lime juice, chili pepper and toasted rice. Then you finished. In order to have the best taste of laab, I suggest you to eat laab with sticky rice.

At the end, you can top up Laab with dry chili if you want to like in the picture below.
