Kao Ji (Grilled Sticky Rice)

After rice harvest is over.Isan People have been storage rice. When cold season come that it’s very cold weather and they always have The fire, eat kao Ji and sit together beside bonfire This is such a lovely and warm culture in Isan and Khon Phu Thai in the northeast of Thailand

1 cup cooked sticky rice
1 egg
1 tsp. fish sauce or Soy bean sauce
2 tbsp. coconut milk (optional)

1. Mix sticky rice with coconut milk while the rice is still hot and Mix a little salt is salty enough
2. Beat the egg and add sauce together
3. Mold rice into cubes by hand and Make it a flat pack tight well such as photo, or you can equipment to make it as beautiful flat pack

4. Dip the sticky rice into the egg or paint the egg on sticky rice, 2 choices you can pick it and grill
5. flip back and forth till Egg until the egg is cooked, color change as yellow,
6. finish and ready to eat
